The thrill of the real world

Above and beyond the fame, cash and fabulous award nights, the most memorable benefit of winning YCC on a European level may just be participation in an exclusive behind-the-scenes work experience. This year, Sofia Stergiopoulou of Greece – the proud first-place winner in the YCC 2011 visual arts discipline – spent two days at award-winning design studio and creative consultancy It’s Nice That.

Sofia was given the chance to get down to work and learn about the latest and greatest from the London design scene. What she didn’t expect, perhaps, was the mutual interest in the Athens-based scene. Her take on the Greek penchant for expression and creativity, no matter the bigger issues at hand, was even profiled on the well-read It’s Nice That blog.
