New UK jury member lets the cars do the painting!
17 FebNew UK jury member, 26-year old artist Ian Cook, has been busy lately adding his own splash of colour to the launch of the Chevrolet Spark. Ian creates his images by driving remote control cars and rolling used car tyres through acrylic paint. So far, he has created over 40 individual car artworks, and not one has seen a paintbrush.
“I’ve done several commissions for Chevrolet before,” said Ian, “so when the opportunity to be the first person ever to create an image of the Spark came along, I couldn’t turn it down.”
As well as the Spark, Ian also created an image of the famous Chevrolet ‘bow-tie’ logo for us.
“It looks quite simple,” he said, “But the logo is actually very intricate. The angles have to be exactly right, and the criss-cross detail of the gold inside the bow-tie was difficult to replicate.”
Ian will be Young Creative Chevrolet’s UK judge in the visual arts section of the competition. We’re not the only ones to be impressed by his talents. Check out this article on the Sky News website.
